Are your bonnet vents falling apart? Or have you broken or lost one entirely?
Functional bonnet vents for the Holden VE Commodore and Pontiac G8.
Fits:
- Holden VE Commodore SS/SS-V (2006–2013) — sedan, ute, or wagon
- Pontiac G8 (2008–2009, North America) — same platform, same front end
- VE Commodores fitted with a Pontiac G8-style front-end conversion
- If in doubt refer to the images, if your bonnet doesn't look the same, it likely doesn't match.
Unlike the factory vents, which look functional but are actually sealed and prone to going brittle with age, these are genuinely functional - letting air into the engine bay through a honeycomb grill and helping push heat out.
As with any 3D-printed part fine layer lines are visible, although the can be used as is, they can also be painted to match your vehicle colour.
These fit using the existing OEM metal clips from your original vents (clips not supplied).
Installation tip: the OEM clips are known to grip tightly and are almost guaranteed to cause damage to the bonnet or break the vents upon on removal - bending the tabs slightly on the metal clips inward slightly first helps relieve some of their clamping force, and reduce the chance of breaking upon removal.
3D printed in ASA for UV and heat tolerance in Australian conditions, sold as a pair.
FAQ block:
- What does this fit? Holden VE Commodore SS/SS-V (2006–2013) — sedan, ute, or wagon, since they share the same front end - plus the Pontiac G8 sold in North America on the same platform, and VE Commodores fitted with a Pontiac G8-style front-end conversion. If in doubt refer to the images, if the bonnet doesn't look the same it wont fit.
- Are these exactly the same as the OEM vents? They're modelled from scan data taken directly off genuine OEM vents, so the fit and look are near identical to the factory original parts - and because the factory vents are actually sealed, these function better. As with any reproduction part, the keenest eye might spot minor variations from the original.
- Are these functional or cosmetic? Functional - unlike the factory vents (which look functional but are actually sealed), these genuinely let air into the engine bay and help vent heat.
- How does it mount? Mounting is the same way as the OEM vents - retain the existing metal clips from your original vents and transfer them onto the new vent tabs. Clips aren't supplied.
- Any installation tips? The OEM clips grip tightly onto the tabs, and even tighter into the bonnet bodywork, which can result in broken or damaged vents during removal - Recommend test-fitting without the clips first, and only fitting them for the final installation.
- What's it made from? ASA. Fine layer lines are visible, as with any 3D-printed part - can be used as-is or painted to match.
- What's the lead time? Made to order - expect 1–2 weeks, depending on current order backlog.
